April is Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month.
April is Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month, a time for communities to come together and advocate for the safety and well-being of children. In Seguin, this message is being shared in a powerful and heartfelt way.
The Seguin Police Department, in partnership with the Guadalupe County Children’s Advocacy Center (GCCAC), recently placed 903 pinwheels along State Hwy 123 Bypass—each one representing a child they served in 2024. These pinwheels serve as a reminder of the importance of protecting our children and ensuring they have the safe, happy childhoods they deserve.
A Community That Cares
The pinwheels are more than just a display—they symbolize hope, resilience, and the commitment of Seguin’s community to stand against child abuse. Every child should grow up in a home filled with love, care, and security. By raising awareness, supporting organizations like the GCCAC, and speaking up when we see signs of abuse or neglect, we can help make a difference.
How You Can Help
If you suspect abuse or neglect, it’s crucial to say something. Reporting concerns can save a child’s life and provide them with the support they need to heal and thrive.
